Thinking about what to write today, I decided to jump back into Chemistry. While I am not going to write a whole story on a chemical element and my adventures with them, I do want to give everyone an interesting video to look at.
In the video below, you will be watching a whole run-down on Sulfuric acid, and it's chemical reaction with Sucrose. I decided to give relevant links to Wikipedia because I think it is the most user friendly for everyone to read. As much as I would want to link something from a college website, I want this to be (somewhat) interesting for all audiences.
If you are rising high schooler or are just entering college, If I were you I'd take a Chemistry class and ask to do this reaction yourself. It is quite interesting not only to see how much carbon you can get out of just a little sugar, but it is interesting to watch the reaction of everyone around you who may or may not know what just happened. As always, be careful when handling concentrated Sulfuric acid.
Hope you enjoyed the video! I'll see if I can pull out another thing Chemistry-related for next week. If you have suggestions, feel free to leave me a comment below or hit me up in the live chat by clicking the button on the navbar.
